Interview with Kevin

My friend Kevin
Kevin is my friend who loves movies very much. This is the interview with him.

Q1: When did you start your interest in movies?
Kevin: Well, I like movies since I was a child. At that time, I watched many Animations, such as The Lion King, Lotus Lantern and Black Cat Police Chief. They are the best memory of my childhood.
Q2: Which kind of movies do you like?
Kevin: I watch variety kinds of movies, like comedy, adventure, fantasy, mystery T romance and so on. And I am not critical about the category of a film.
Q3: Why do you watch movies? Just for fun, or any other reason?
Kevin: Sometimes for fun. You know, pressure in our daily life is harder and harder and we need to find a way to relax our mind. Watching movies is a good choice.
Q4: Do you have some favorite movies in your mind? List them.
Kevin: Yes, I have some favorites. Forrest Gump, the West Odyssey, Crazy Little Thing Called Love….
Q5: What do you care about the most about a film? or what do you expect from the movies?
Kevin: I think a good movie should first have an attractive story plot which can keep us watching like Harry Potter. Then it may tell some problems in our society, and teach us a lesson.
Q6: Who is your favorite actor/actress and director?
Kevin: My favorite actor is Stephen Chow, a very famous comedy actor in China. His films are full of humor elements and keep us thinking at the same time
Q7: Where would you like to enjoy the movies? On the internet, or in the cinema?
Kevin: I like to watch movies alone on the Internet. Going to a cinema is not convenient. Sometimes you should spend double time waiting for your films. Besides I don’t want to waste money.
Q8: Do you think some movies are reflections of our life? What can you learn from those movies?
Kevin: Of course. There are many inspirational films, like Forrest Gump. From these films, we can find ourselves sometimes. When I am in trouble and feel frustrated, I will think of these heroes in the movies.
Q9: Now some people have prejudice over Chinese movies. They speak highly of blockbuster in Hollywood? What about you?
Kevin: Eh…I like American films as well as Chinese films. We can’t tell which one is better because they are based on different cultures.
Q10: Movies are art of behaviors, Science is art of mind. So what is the relationship between them?
Kevin: I think the development of science can benefit the film industry. The film tricks rely on high tech very much. I enjoy movies and respect science.

After talking with Kevin, I find that we have some similarities in movies. Movies help us understand the world. What is your opinion? What is your style for movies?

10.Science and Human Life

Nowadays, there is general trend that people engaging in technological revolutions. Then how did the science change our living conditions?
Science and technology have been bringing human beings tremendous benefits. Thanks to science and technology, we now live comfortably and conveniently in houses furnished with air conditioners, refrigerators, washing machines and televisions etc. Thanks to science and technology, we can eat fresh vegetables att the year round. Thanks to science and technology, we can travel tong distances in the fraction of a second on planes, trains and cars. Thanks to science and technology, we wear clothes with synthetic materials which cannot easily be worn out.
Advantages by science

However, every corn has two sides. Science and technology have also brought us a tot of disasters. First, because of the many breakthroughs in the field of medicine, people are now living much longer than they used to. As a result, the population of the world is increasing, causing lots of problems. Second, because of the development of industry, lots of the wastes from factories pour into the air and rivers, causing pollution of all kinds. Third, some terrorists are using science and technology against mankind. They use biological, chemical and nuclear weapons to threaten world peace...

So it's urgent that we find ways to solve these problems. But we should not stop the development of science and technology because of these disasters they bring, just as we should not give up eating for fear of choking. In addition, we should make some rules to regulate our actions. As long as we use science and technology in a proper way, they may bring us even more benefits.
Science changes our future
This is science, which has changed our life and will continue changing our life.

9.Different sports for different purpose

Taking exercise is good for our health. All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. By taking exercise, we can relax our body and mind. At the same time, we can harden our muscle and have a good figure. If we don't take exercise for a long time, we may easily fall sick.
Naturally, playing sports can bring us a healthy body. But not all sports are suitable for us. There are many kinds of sports, which one is really fit you best? As far as I am concerned, we should take different sports for different purpose.
If you just want to keep fit or lose weight, a large amount time spending on playing sports is unnecessary. Taking morning jogging alongside the beach, playing basketball with your friends or even doing fitness exercises could make you feel relaxed and comfortable.
Basketball

On the other hand, to the old people, playing basketball must be a joke. But it doesn't mean they couldn't enjoy themselves by playing sports. On the contrary, sports are important. Especially for the people who just retired. Tai chi, ping-pang and yangko can add zest for their life and help them get rid of loneliness.

Ping-pong

As the development of our society, more and more pressure is around us. White collar spend fewer and fewer time on playing sports. They can easily fall sick. So they should pay more attention to balance their life .For they have less spare time, Hula loop, shuttlecock and rope skipping are the best choices.
shuttlecock
To be brief, playing sports is important, but we should choice the right one .Are you find your sports? Come on! Let’s Go!!!

8.The third crisis of mathematics

One day, the barber in Swill village hung out a piece of signs: "I will cut hair in the village for people who don’t give themselves a haircut, and I only give these people a haircut." Then people in the village asked him, "Who will cut your hair?" The barber t was speechless.

Who can cut my hair?

If he cut his hair himself, he would belong to people who cut hair themselves. However, the sign said that he would not give this kind of person a haircut, so he can't cut hair himself. If another person gave him a haircut, he didn't give himself a haircut. Then the sign clearly said that he would give all the men who didn’t give themselves a haircut. Therefore, he should cut his hair. Thus, in both kinds of situation, what the barber said is self-contradictory.

This is the famous paradox, known as the "Russell paradox". It is raised by the British philosopher Bertrand Russell, who represented a famous paradox of set theory by using an interesting story generally.

In 1874, the German mathematician Cantor founded the set theory. The theory soon penetrated to most of the branches of mathematics, and became the basis of the branches. By the end of the nineteenth century, almost all mathematics are based on the basis of set theory. At this time, some contradictory results of the set theory appeared, particularly in 1902 when Russell proposed the barber story which reflected the paradox. It is very simple, clear, and popular. So, the foundation of mathematics is moved, this is the so-called third "mathematical crisis".

So you can see science is not always right. Many theories which are truth now may be turned out to be wrong someday. It is the pursuit of process that keeps our human beings going. This story also shows us that mathematics is not dull, it can also be interesting, do you think so?

7.My high school years

It is almost four years since I graduated from my senior middle school. As a typical Chinese student from a normal family, high school years is a time of endless homework and exams. Sometimes I am a tired of life in school, but I have to admit that it is a time when our goals are very clear and our plans are quite practical every day. I am now a little missing those people there.

my high school-I like the lake.
My math teacher Mr wan is also our class teacher. He is a strict man and can get angry easily. Thus we were afraid of him, especially when we made some mistakes, both in life and study. I remember that he burned the new novel Henry Potter in front of the whole class to punish one of my classmates who read it in self-study class. This behavior was a little crazy. However he is considerate for our life. In winter term, he would come to the classroom to check whether the windows were closed to avoid us catching a cold in the afternoon. He paid attention to every detail in life, and required us to do so. For parents, he is a good teacher and responsible for his students. For us, he is just too serious. Even after so many years we are still afraid of him in the class party.
our classroom -the desk is full of books
My English teacher is a woman, almost the same age of my mother. Compared with Mr Wan, she is so kind to everyone that all of us enjoyed her class; at least we didn’t worry about our wrong behaviors. If she was really angry, for example, we put off his assignment for a long time, she would pretend to leave the classroom for a while and then came back to persuade us to finish the homework. She is a nagger like our mother.
My Bio teacher is an old professor, who keeps a young attitude towards life. He likes to make jokes in class which made his lessons quite interesting for us. He usually calls someone by Laoji(A little rude in Chinese), so we gave him a nickname for his habit-his last name +Laoji. I guess he knew the nickname at that time, because the nickname was more famous than his real name. Besides he would ask you to answer his questions when you were getting your cup to drink or opening your mouth for a yawn. This hateful behavior usually made other students laugh in class. But you may be a little embarrassed.
…….
My deskmate is not as hardworking as other students. He hated all the lessons, and when class began, he would feel sleepy and sometimes fell asleep very soon. When class was over, he could be awake on time and become energetic. He had a hobby-doing magic in front of girls. When hearing the praise and surprise from them, he would be proud. Except sleeping in class, he liked reading science fictions. He can put the e-book in his hands and pretend to be listening carefully to the lessons. Although I was a good student in the teachers’ eyes, we were very good friends. He didn’t like study, but he would never interrupt me when I was learning.

the large domitory
Gradually some of them have been passengers in my life, and we maybe never meet any more. I want to thank all of them with whom I struggle for the future. They are the beautiful scenery in my mind for no reasons forever.

6.The Pursuit of Happiness

The Pursuit of Happiness is a 2006 American biographical film about the on and off-homeless salesman-turned-stockbroker Chris Gardner.

Gardner and his son
Chris Gardner is a bright and talented, but marginally employed salesman. Struggling to make ends meet, Gardner finds himself and his five-year-old son evicted from their San Francisco apartment with nowhere to go. When Gardner lands an internship at a prestigious stock brokerage firm, he and his son endure many hardships, including living in shelters, in pursuit of his dream of a better life for the two of them. Finally he succeeded.
I was fortunate to see this movie and really enjoyed it. I like these words said by Chris Gardner:
You got a dream, you gotta protect it. People can't do something themselves, they wanna tell you you can't do it.If you want something, go get it. Period.
There is an I in "happiness",There is no Y in "happiness",It's an I
The very short stage of my life is called happiness
This film makes me think about happiness. Everyone wants to be happy. But what is happiness? Happiness is what we feel in life. Compared to people in wars, we're happy because we're living, Compared to people who are starving, we're happy because we have enough food. Compared to people in prison, we're happy because we have enough freedom to do things we want. Compared to people who are very old, we're happy because we have time to pursue our dreams. Happiness is the feeling that we love this world, and the world loves us.

5.Those unforgettable memories

Movies have been along with us since childhood. We all have some beautiful images in our memory. Below are three animated films which you may be familiar with.
 Calabash Brother
Legend has it that two goblins were jailed in the Calabash Mountains, a scorpion and a snake. A pangolin accidentally hit wore cave, and the two goblins had escaped. An old man, under the guidance of the pangolin, got the magic gourd seeds, from red, orange, yellow, green, green, blue, to violet, totally seven large calabashes. The gourds matured in the land and became little boys, with different powers. They can't wait to go and fight with the goblins one after another, but all failed. Finally the seven Calabash brothers came together and defeated the enemy in the. Eventually they became a seven-color-mountain and put the monsters down forever.
Astron Boy

Astro Boy is a powerful robot created by the head of the Ministry of Science, Doctor Tenma, to replace his son Tobio, who died in a car accident. Astro was gifted with superior powers and skills, as well as the ability to experience human emotions. He is shown fighting crime, evil, and injustice. Most of his enemies were robot-hating humans, robots gone berserk, or alien invaders. Almost every story included a battle involving Astro and other robots.

Lion King
A young lion prince, Simba, was born in Africa, thus making his uncle Scar the second in line to the throne. Scar plotted with the hyenas to kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, thus making himself King. The King was killed and Simba was led to believe by Scar that it had been his fault, and so he fled the kingdom in shame. After years of exile, a childhood friend runs into him by accident, and persuaded him to take his responsibility. He returned home and overthrew his uncle, claimed the kingdom as his own, thus completing the "Circle of Life".
Although I am no longer a little boy, these films are still worth cherishing. Whenever coming across these pictures, I will think of time in my childhood. So what is your memory of childhood? Did you like these films as a boy or girl?
